The view of Loch Awe from the Boatshed
The crisp water of Loch Awe gently laps at the shore. The Crannog, ancient dwelling place of the Picts, rises above the water providing a much-loved landmark. Across the loch lie mountains, including the 3,710ft-high Ben Lui which is the namesake of one of Ardanaiseig’s Master Loch View rooms. However, in this blog post we’re taking a look at Ardanaiseig’s standalone accommodation that sits right on the banks of the beautiful loch, away from the main hotel; the Boatshed.
Built at the same time as the main house itself, the original Boatshed has since been completely refurbished, keeping its original foundations, to turn it into the luxury space it is today. Often used as a honeymoon suite, it looks out over Loch Awe and the mountains beyond from its private location. With its own jetty and space for boats underneath, the Boatshed can still perform its original function, and guests are more than welcome to hire boats to spend time on the loch during their stay.
The Boatshed has an open plan kitchen and living area, as well as a king-size or twin beds, with a glass frontage looking out over the loch. So if you’re looking for a romantic retreat, or just some peace and quiet, we think this is the perfect spot to let your cares drift away across the loch. You can see more photos and find out more about the Boatshed here.
