Here at Ardanaiseig, we’re very lucky to be located in amongst some really beautiful Scottish scenery. From the deep, mysterious woodland on our doorstep, to mountains and lochs that form the backdrop to rolling hills of heather.
As well as taking a walk around our grounds or one of our rowing boats out on Loch Awe, we also have two bicycles available for guests to borrow.
What better way to explore than by going for a cycle through the surroundings, experiencing first hand what the Highlands have to offer.
The single-track road from Ardanaiseig to the nearest village of Kilchrenan is about 3.8 miles long, and it takes you past woodland, lochs and mountain views.
There is also a large variety of wildlife you might come across on your way, including red, roe and sika deer, as well as various birds of prey, pheasants and even peacocks (the latter of which live at a nearby croft).
We also have a number of pathways dotted around our grounds, some of which are suitable for cycling.
There are also plenty of places to stop off for a picnic, and the kitchen staff are happy to whip up something tasty for you to take on your adventure. We offer a packed lunch option for £10 per person or a luxury picnic hamper for £20 per person.
So if you’re planning a trip to Ardanaiseig, why not bring your bike and if you need to borrow one, just ask at reception when you arrive, and enjoy your adventure.
We’ve even got an antique penny-farthing, although we don’t imagine it would make for the most comfortable of journeys.
