"Encircled by snowcapped bens and thick woods, Ardanaiseig is as remote as its gets - and all the better for it."
A warm welcome
Some luxury destinations make you feel like you are walking on egg shells during your stay. Ardanaiseig is not one of them. On arrival we will welcome you with a complimentary, cockle-warming hot toddy made with one of our finest single malts. And up in your bedroom a freshly-prepared charcuterie platter will be waiting to tickle your appetite. Younger guests can froth their lips with a deluxe hot chocolate – and for really little ones there’s a welcome pack that includes a snugly bath robe, slippers and games that will keep them smiling throughout your stay.
An eerie woodland walk
Halloween’s origins lie with the Celts. They believed 31st October marked the moment when the division between the real and the supernatural was at its thinnest, allowing ghosts and spirits to pass freely from their world into ours. Ardanaiseig is not without its own Celtic mystery - and as winter draws in it’s said you can hear the haunting cries of disgraced goddess Cailleach Bheithir echoing around our wooded gardens. If you think you are brave enough to find out for yourself, we will send you into the dead of night with a lantern, a map and a trial through the woods.
Pumpkins and paradise
Halloween is nothing without pumpkins. Unleash your creative dark side and carve a jack-o’-lantern with your nearest and dearest. (We’ll supply the pumpkin.) Your creepy creation will be lit and displayed on a menacing mantelpiece in our Drawing Room. If that all sounds a little too chilling, sip from a complimentary flask of warming soup while you stroll beside Loch Awe in our stunning 240-acre grounds and gardens. You won’t have to walk far to find your own private piece of Highlands paradise.
