Mushroom foraging weekend at Ardanaiseig 5-7th October 2012
Join Scotland’s chef of the year, Gary Goldie, and Britain’s leading edible fungi expert, Dick Peebles, for three days (Friday 5th October – Sunday 7th October) of foraging, food preparation, gourmet dining and superior hospitality. Built in 1834 and situated on the shores of Loch Awe in Scotland, Ardanaiseig is a deeply romantic and luxurious boutique country house hotel. Chef de cuisine, Gary Goldie, has worked at Ardanaiseig for the past 15 years and has been awarded several accolades including ‘Scottish Chef of the Year 2011’ and ‘Most Romantic Restaurant 2010’ by the Scottish Hotel Awards and 3 AA rosettes. Gary is one of the un-sung heroes of the Scottish fine dining scene and is passionate about foraging and will delight guests during the weekend with his culinary creations using the day’s finds. Dick Peebles currently works with the gourmet division of Fresh Direct and has appeared in two series of Nick Nairn’s “Wild Harvest” and as a wild food specialist on “Reporting Scotland”. The weekend will include two night’s accommodation at Ardanaiseig, champagne reception, two five-course gourmet dinners using mushrooms picked during the course of the weekend.
